The main ground station will be located in Montpellier on the science University campus, place Eugène Bataillon. It will be constituted of basic elements from radio ham listening stations, with two motorized antenna, a satellite monitoring software. The station prototype is under development. The emission and reception frequencies of the signals are different, thus the necessity of two antennas. They are crossed Yagi antennas thus circularly polarized to catch the data whichever the cubesat orientation is.
Moreover, Montpellier 2 University was selected in January 2009 as reference for the future modulation techniques of cubesat for GENSO platform. Genso, managed by the education services of ESA, aims to the creation of a common receiving and data archiving platform for university satellites and radio ham. It will enable to get the data even if the satellite is not in a visibility window of the regular ground station.
