The initial development of the PROTEUS platform realised within the scope of the CNES/Alcatel partnership was subjected to a specific agreement between the two partners. The Jason 1 satellite, first user of the Proteus platform, was realised under CNES contract.
Since 2000, the industrial organization of the post Jason 1 missions is as follows :
A global contract passed with Alcatel covers the following points :
Upgrade of the Jason 1 platform for the next missions
Supply of 5 equipment and platform sets
Setting of the "standard" engeenering services prices for the satellites using the Proteus platform
Maintenance of the industrial means of the series for CNES needs : benches, GSE, study and simulation models
The satellite's contracts are made one by one depending on the CNES programmatic decisions. They lean on the global contract for the platform, the standard services and general means of the series. They define the specific services for the mission, the realisation planning and the particular responsibilities for the industrialist up to the end of the in-flight commissioning.
