The PICARD Ground Segment is constituted of two units:

A Command Control Ground Segment, the MIGS (MIcrosatellite Ground Segment) which, for the operational phase, will be constituted of at least 4 components:

A Command Control Center (CCC). This component consists in a nominal center and a spare center.
Six 2 GHz emission and reception Stations (TTCET (Telemetry and TeleCommand Earth Terminal)).
    A Data Communication Network (DCN).
A Server for Exchange of data Files (SEF) which includes all data files to be exchanged with the Mission Center.

A User Ground Segment constituted of two units:

A PICARD Scientific Mission Center (CMS-P) located in Brussels, mainly dedicated to the processing of the payload data.
The main functions of the CMS-P are to:
Acquire the data necessary to the CMS-P operations,
      Program the payload,
Control the health status of the payload,
Realise the scientific products of the mission (L0 to L2A),
      Distribute the products.
PICARD Scientific Expert Centers divided within the three laboratories in charge of the instruments development namely LATMOS (France) for SODISM, IRMB (Belgium) for SOVAP, PMOD (Switzerland) for PREMOS, and CERGA (OCA) for operations and data processing of the ground based instruments.
Those Centers will mainly have to achieve:
a high quality analysis of the instruments functioning,
the elaboration of the finalized calibrations and of the precise scientific results (L2B, L3) and their distribution to the Co-I's through archiving and thematic distribution centers.
