The CNES contributed to ODIN in:

the supply of an Acousto-Optical Spectrometer developped under the LAS supervising, with the CESR and the radioastronomy department ARPEGES of the Meudon observatory,
the approvisionning, within the french industries, in solar and stellar sensors and gyroscopes,
the control and the determination of the satellite attitude, particularly in giving a star catalog for the stellar sensor and in the dropping off off site of an ingeneer from the Toulouse Spatial Center within the Swedish project group,
the satellite environmental tests in INTESPACE, under the Swedish responsability,
the telescope aligment tests in the CESR, Toulouse.

The CNES is also working with the french laboratories on a user ground segment which will provide the scientific validation of the data. This user ground segment is mainly constituted of:

a scientific data processing unit for the aeronomy (MOLIERE), which algorithms have been developed by the Observatoire de Bordeaux and with the support of SILOGIC (french software company) for technical and operational environment. This data process retrieves the molecules profiles in the atmosphere (level 2 products).
a data mangement and processing system for the astronomy, developed by SILOGIC, which is located on computers in the CNES, Toulouse.
