The ODIN Ground Segment contains:
|
 a control center (Odin Control Center: OCC) developed under the SSC responsibility, installed in Esrange, which role is to:
 receive, decommute and archive the telemesure,
pre-process the telemesure to create the level 0 files,
survey the satellite,
send the telecommands.
a mission center developed under the SSC responsibility, installed in Solna near Stockholm which allow the creation of the instruments utilisation plan knowing the scientific needs and the satellite constraints.
a Parallel Data Center installed in Stockholm under the Royal Institue of Technology responsibility, which role is to:
archive the level 0, 1A and 1B products for the two instruments (SMR and OSIRIS),
distribute the data to the differents production centers,
update a catalogue of the available products in the archive, this catalogue being accessible through a web server,
distribute the products to users.
a production center of Level 1A and 1B SMR, developed under the Chalmers university responsibility and installed in Chalmers.
a production center of Level 1-OSIRIS, developed under the Canadian responsibility and installed in the Saskatoon University, Canada.
a production center of Level 2-OSIRIS, installed in Finland.
a production and archive center for the Level 2-SMR/Aeronomy, developed under the MISU responsibility and installed in Stockholm.
a French Ground Segment, to process the Level 2 SMR aeronomy and the level 1 SMR astronomy, which contains:
an astronomy ODIN Data Management System installed in the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES), Toulouse.
an aeronomy scientific processing unit installed in the ETHER service in the Pierre Simon Laplace Institute (IPSL).
